Multicultural Night

Tonight is Multicultural Night: Doors Open at 6:30pm. Taste food from around the world, live entertainment, learn about other countries, crafts, and visit a holiday shoppe with items from 25 cent to $10.00 on sale for children to purchase for family and friends. We are looking forward to this event.

PTA Meeting

PTA Meeting Tonight!  Ahead of Multicultural Night, there will be a brief PTA Meeting at 6pm.
GCES PTA is seeking nominations for a Treasurer to fill an upcoming vacancy on the board. If interested, please contact gcespta@gmail.com   Nominations will be read at the meeting, and the board of directors will vote.

PTA is seeking 3 committee chair openings

Health and Wellness - The Health and Wellness committee chair helps to provide information to the school community in a variety of ways for health and wellness, and inform school community of related events.

School Improvement - (Marquee/Beautification) - We are presently seeking Girl Scout and Boy Scout Troops that may be interested in changing the marquee sign on a rotating bases, and beautification which include updating the flower boxes, planting flowers.

Community Liason - We are seeking an advocacy representative that will work with the community and school to bring awareness to advocacy events ( for example: coat drive, speaker at the PTA meeting)

Lion King
Disney Lion King: Howard County Recreation & Parks has teamed up with Columbia Center for Theatrical Arts to produce Disney's The Lion King! Join your friends at CCTA as we go into the wilds of Africa. This story has captivated the imagination of audiences around the world! The African savannah comes to life on your stage with Simba, Rafiki and an unforgettable cast of characters as they journey from Pride Rock to the jungle... and back again, in this inspiring, coming-of-age tale. Students, learn the fundamentals of musical theater including choreography, character development and stage direction. The program culminates with a full stages production complete with theatrical sets, lighting, costumes and sound!
At the final class, a 7pm performance for friends and family ends the season. Students, bring a nut-free snack to be eaten while supervised between school dismissal and when class begins. Info: Melissa Calleri, 410-313-4721 or mcalleri@howardcountymd.gov.
Notes:
Class meets: 12/4, 12/11, 12/18, 1/8, 1/22, 1/29, 2/5, 2/12, 2/26 no class 12/25, 1/1, 1/15, 2/19
Final performance: 2/26 at 7pm students stay after dismissal for final practice, provided dinner & 7pm performance
