Morning Carpool Procedures
1. Gorman Crossing Elementary School begins at 9:25. We will open the doors each day at 9:15. Do not allow your child to leave your car before 9:15. There will be no one to supervise them before that time.
2. If you wish to drop your child off in the carpool loop, remain in your car. Children should only exit the car on the curbside. Once your child has exited the car, please continue to move from the loop so that other cars may enter.
3. Wait in the carpool line until the cars in front of you have moved on. Do not pass other cars on the inside of the loop.
4. If you wish to walk your child to the building, park your car in the parking lot and walk with your child. Do not allow children to walk through the parking lot alone.
Afternoon Carpool Procedures
1.Carpool students are dismissed at approximately 3:50 p.m.
2. If you wish to wait in your car for your child, please remain in the carpool line inside your car. Do not pass other cars on the inside of the loop. We will load the cars that are in the loop first, allow them to leave and then move the cars next in line into the loop. Please follow the directions of the staff on duty. We are there for everyone’s safety.
3 If you wish to walk to the building to meet your child, please park in the parking lot and then walk to the sidewalk on the side of the building.
Although we know that everyone has busy schedules it is important for all of us to follow the procedures listed above. If you have an appointment that you must rush to get to after school, it may be a good idea to park, meet your child on the sidewalk and then be able to leave without getting into the carpool line. Remember SAFETY FIRST!
Thanks in advance for your support and cooperation.
