Meet Our School Counseling Intern

Fri, 02/22/2019 - 2:30pm

Dear Parents and Guardians,

My name is Jamie Peterhans, but the kids call me, “Ms. P.” I am a graduate student at Johns Hopkins University, studying School Counseling. I will be Mrs. Tasch’s Intern this spring for a total of 600 hours. My last day will be around mid-May. During my time at Gorman Crossing, I will be working with students in the same capacity as Mrs. Tasch, which means I will be facilitating classroom guidance lessons, small group and individual counseling sessions.

I am from Frederick County, Maryland. My undergraduate degree is in Psychology and Human Development from the University of Maryland, College Park. After graduating, I spent four years teaching Pre-School at The Goddard School. During that time, I began my graduate studies in School Counseling.

In my spare time I enjoy reading, hiking, running, horseback riding and playing sports. I am excited to continue my studies at Gorman Crossing Elementary and look forward to getting to know the students and community.

Sincerely,

Jamie Peterhans  jamie_peterhans_intern@hcpss.org
