Effective for the school year 2018-2019, Maryland State Department of Health and Mental Hygiene requires all incoming Kindergarteners, 1st graders, 2nd graders, 3rd graders, and 4th graders in the state of Maryland to have TWO Chickenpox (Varicella) and TWO MMR vaccines BEFORE entering school.

Some students may have already received these immunizations, but the Health Room may not have the updated immunization record. If you need to update your child's record, please have your health care provider fax the updated immunization record to GCES Health Room, 410-880-5902.

Failure to provide proof of updated immunizations by the first day of school, or to provide evidence of an appointment to receive those immunizations within 20 calendar days from the first day of school, will result in the student being excluded from school.
